'Antiquities in the Modern World: Navigating the Ethical Minefield' at the Chau Chak Wing Museum, Thursday 24 October 2024

Dr. Melanie Pitkin brings over 15 years of experience working in prestigious museums across Australia and the United Kingdom, including the Fitzwilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge. Her expertise spans Egyptology, museum studies, and cutting-edge interdisciplinary research on ancient Egyptian artifacts. Dr Pitkin gave a fascinating talk last night and had everyone captivated from start to finish, and the personal tour of the Egyptian galleries was a real highlight. It reminded us what an incredible resource the Chau Chak Wing Museum is, and I’m sure many first-time visitors will be inspired to return.
