Golf, Cambridge vs Oxford, 28 November 2022

The annual golf match between the alumni of Cambridge and Oxford finally restarted after a 3 year delay due to Covid and rain on 28 November 2022 at Manly Golf Club.. Chris Golis reports that Cambridge regained the President’s Trophy by 2.5 to 1.5. Result of individual matches (Oxford team members second): James Balfour defeated Charles Thorburn (c) when Charles conceded at the 9th hole due to back problems. James was 7 up at the time. Chris Golis (c) defeated Rob Laurie 5 & 4 Richard Lyon vs Rick Lee match tied. Craig Collie lost to Lynne Pressley 2&1 despite playing the back 9 in 2 over par. He was conceding 15 strokes to Lynne. For 2023 both teams will have new captains: James Balfour for Cambridge and Lynne Pressley for Oxford.
